In celebration of their 235th anniversary, John Smedley, the historic knitwear label, were featured each month in The Essential Journal, consisting of both a double page advert and a DPS editorial. A year-long series focusing on the brand’s partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), Essential Studio interviewed John Smedley’s craft ambassadors in a ‘Meet the Makers’ feature, assisting in their mission to share the stories of like-minded British craftspeople. Ranging from basket makers to bell casters, these editorials featuring craftspeople reinforced John Smedley’s status as an authority on all things artistry and quality.
